Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is at fault for another FERPA violation, this time for a Chesterbrook Elementary School student and family.
FCPS included an unredacted document in its response to another parent’s FERPA request and that parent sent it to me.
The document is a student’s care card. Each year FCPS asks parents to submit a care card. The cards request home, parent, and contact information, as well as medical issues, prescription medications, medical professionals the child is seeing, and so on.

Please join me in asking FCPS to stop its systemic failure to protect the privacy of its students and their families.
