Special Education Action obtained 501(c)(3) status as a nonprofit publisher.
Special Education Action is a 501(c)3 nonprofit publisher focused on special education.
Its mission is to ensure parents, educators, and students have the information and tools necessary to fully understand, address, and safeguard the unique needs of all students who require special education.
This comes in the form of publishing lessons learned by parents, educators, and students; news articles highlighting what's happening around the country; Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) responses; and free access to other information that might help parents, educators, and students along their special education journey.
Special Education Action is dedicated to providing this information without charge, because money should never be a roadblock for parents, educators, and students striving to ensure the unique needs of all children are met.
Although many of the articles have a Virginia focus, as Special Education Action grows, the goal is to cover issues specific to all special education agencies (SEA) monitored by the U.S. Department of Education, as well as the SEA's local education agencies (LEA).
